Badger to the Bone (Honey Badger Chronicles #3) by Shelly Laurenston

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Honey Badger Chronicles #3.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: A cat to tame the psychopath.
Synopsis:
She’s the woman he’s been hired to kidnap. But ZeZé Vargas has other ideas . . . like getting them both out of this nightmare alive. Just one problem. She’s crazy. Certifiably. Because while he’s plotting their escape, the petite Asian beauty is plotting something much more deadly . . .

Max “Kill It Again” MacKilligan has no idea what one of her own is doing with all these criminal humans until she realizes that Zé has no idea who or what he is. Or exactly how much power he truly has.

But Max is more than happy to bring this handsome jaguar shifter into her world and show him everything he’s been missing out on. A move that might be the dumbest thing she’s ever done once she realizes how far her enemies will go to wipe her out. Too bad for them Zé is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her alive . . . and honey badgers are just so damn hard to kill!

I LOVED IT! I was so excited to read Max's story.

She has always been the hardcore one, the one who isn't scared of anything and doesn't get attached to anyone.
Up until now, everyone thought she was a psychopath for sure, until she saw Zeze; or better said, she smelled him and couldn't get enough of him.

Max didn't understand why, but the clueless cat caught her attention at once, and she couldn't leave him behind.
She didn't get attached, she didn't find people interesting at all; but there was something about the cat that she couldn't ignore.

Zeze had no clue what was going on, ever since the crazy small woman got in their van things went from bad to insanity. He knew she was bad news and he needed to stay away, but there was just something irresistible about her.

From the moment Ze woke up at the MacKilligan's house I couldn't stop laughing; him and the cabinet just cracked me up. Also the way the author starts showing how his personality resembles the one of a cat was hilarious! I liked him A LOT.

The fact that Max decided she was gonna help him shocked everyone, even her. Ze had just something about him; like the way he was so straight forward with Max, no nonsense allowed.

One of my favorite parts about this series is how the author manages to make these mythical characters relatable and oh so human. Every issue they encounter, every fear the face, and fight they have, makes us feel them like humans with a little twist.

Awesome book!
