Charmed Souls (Black Souls #1) by Abbi Glines

Charmed Souls FOR WEB
My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Black Souls #1
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject:Chemistry for days
Synopsis:
They say blood is thicker than water, but I was never proud of mine. A female born into the Kamlock bloodline was destined to possess three things they couldn’t change—a crazy as hell mother, an unfair amount of beauty, and a Charmed soul that was as black as night.

All a Kamlock woman ever desired in life was to use her beauty to destroy wealthy men and take their riches. A century had passed since a generation of Kamlock sisters had been anything other than gold diggers.

All I ever wanted was to be free of them. I knew I couldn’t change my cursed birth, but I could change its legacy. I had a job, I had friends, and I was slowly gaining my independence.

Until Rathe Scott crashed into my life and tore it apart.

He made me feel what I had spent my entire life never wanting to feel. He brought out a darkness I’d not known was inside me. And just when I thought I was becoming everything I had sworn I would never become…

He was gone.

And Abbi has done it again! And with a supernatural book no less.

I enjoyed everything about this book! It captivated me from page one and I couldn’t put it down.

It might be a little overwhelming at first with all the information the story throws our way and a large quantity of characters. But give it a chance because it won’t disappoint you.

Cat is this strong witch that somehow is different from everyone in her family. She has no idea where her powers come from and what is the extent of them.
One thing she knows is she will never be like her mom and sisters, even if that means never falling in love.

That is until Rathe shows up in her life out of nowhere and he seems to be immune to her powers.

But he also has a lot of secrets, and these could change everything.

A thrilling and captivating story, I can’t wait to read the next one!

You know a book is one of the good ones when you turn that last page you didn’t even know was the last and go ... what? Noooo!!!

Amazing!

“You’re more than you realize. I’ve tried to tell you that already. I, uh, I don’t think you are who you think you are,” he stopped abruptly then just gave a shake of his head. “You don’t want to hear what I think. Just do me a favor and don’t underestimate your power. You may not agree, but my mother,” he said then pointed at me “and your mother… they are scared of you. There is something we don’t know. But I read people well, and those two are careful not to push you too hard. When you were younger they weren’t as careful around you but the closer you get to twenty-one, things are changing. There is a power shift and you’re so used to the way things have been all your life, you don’t see it.”

This wasn’t the first time Duely had said something like this to me, but it was the first time he had mentioned things shifting the older I got. I still thought he was being dramatic and reading things into situations that weren’t there. I was done arguing that my mother, who had made my life hell from the moment my father died, was scared of me. She hated me. That was clear. She hated that I wouldn’t give her the power of three. She hated that I was stubborn and like my father. She possibly hated that I was half normal. But Persephone Kamlock was by no means scared of me. I let out a hard laugh. “It’s past time you let that theory go,” I told him.

He lowered his eyebrows in a frown. The frustrated kind, not the angry kind. He wanted me to buy into this idea of me being powerful. I had a mortal as a father. That was impossible to consider.

“Explain then why you feel a dark cast and I feel nothing? How do you know it’s dark? What is it you feel?” He was challenging me now. I didn’t have answers, of course. I was still trying to wrap my head around the disappearing act the caster had done.

“You would have felt it too if you’d seen the man,” I said in way of explanation.

“But I didn’t see him. No one did… but you,” he shot back.

I opened my mouth to remind him that I’d been walking around by myself to get peace. There was no way the man knew he’d see me out there alone. He hadn’t been waiting on me. That was ridiculous. This was getting us nowhere. Duely was done with the evening and wanted to get stoned. He wasn’t going to do much to help me. I just shook my head and turned to walk back to the house. “Maybe I’m crazy!” I called out to him, as I walked, trying to break the tension that had unintentionally built.

“Or maybe you’re darker than you want to accept,” was his response.

Sex and Other Shiny Objects (Boyfriend Material #2) by Lauren Blakely

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes,Boyfriend Material #2
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject:Loving you all my life
Synopsis:
The second the test-the-sexy-scenes offer landed in my lap, I said yes.

After all, I've been damn curious about a few things I've read in romance novels. Do buttons truly go flying across the floor when you rip off a guy's shirt? Is staircase sex hella hot or does it leave you with a big old bruise mark on your back? And don’t even get me started on all that panty shredding, and whether it even works.

Time to find out as I embark on Project Sexy Scenes Research, at the request of my hotshot book editor bestie.

All I need is a willing scene partner. Enter Tristan, my best guy friend. The witty, tell-it-like-it-is, bearded hottie volunteers for the experiment.

He's also the guy who gave me the most devastating, toe-curling kiss of my life ten years ago. But nothing has happened since then. And nothing will come between my panties and our friendship now since we have a plan to keep it PG. But once the buttons start flying, all bets are off…

I liked Peyton from book one, but I completely fell for her in this book.

I also want to know for myself if all the sexy scenes we read about in Romance books are real! Girl you’re preaching to the choir!

Her story with Tristan was perfect from the beginning, he was clueless when it came to her and her feelings and I was right there with her inside the hotel room screaming at him in my head… sometimes men are so… blind.

The whole idea of him loving her from a distance for so long is so romantic and beautiful, no one could mistake that for just sex!

Tristan is willing to risk his own heart for just a taste. If that is what she wants then he will forever carry his broken heart, but resisting her is not a possibility anymore.

I LOVED this book, it has the right amount of funny, sweet and sexy and I can’t wait for the next one!

Never Enough (Meet Me in Montana #1) by Kelly Elliott

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Meet Me in Montana #1.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: To Second chances.
Synopsis:
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Cowboys and Angels series comes an intricate romance that asks the question, Can love heal the pain of the past?

Longing to forget the pain of his wife’s death, Brock Shaw has immersed himself in the one thing that lets him escape the guilt. Bull riding. But life on the road means leaving his young son at home with his parents. They want him to give up his career and be a father to his child, but Brock needs the adrenaline to get through each day…or so he thinks.

Lincoln Pratt needs a fresh start. As a top interior designer in Atlanta, she has everything she could ever want, but she’s always at her father’s mercy. Something’s missing, and Lincoln knows she’ll only find it somewhere far away—like the rolling pastures of Hamilton, Montana, where she meets the irresistibly mysterious Brock.

In Brock Shaw, Lincoln sees the part of her that’s missing. In Lincoln Pratt, Brock sees the part of himself he thought he’d lost. But the pain of his past binds him. Can he let himself love again?

What is it about Kelly Elliot’s romance that captures you? I Have no clue! The only thing that I know is that whenever I start one of her books, it’s impossible to put it down.

This book was no exception, Brock and Lincoln story was sweet, funny and heartbreaking all in one.

Lincoln is trying to get some independence from her parents, she has been under their shadow for far too long, and now she needs to become who she was always supposed to be, without their help.

Brock has been going through life avoiding real commitments and love, he is not ready to let anyone close to him again. After what happened the last time he did, he is not risking destroying someone else’s life again.

That is until he sees her, she captures him and without even knowing why, he starts changing into a new person, someone that believes in love and want to trust that he can open his heart again and this time around it won’t be disastrous.

Lincoln is fascinated by Brock, he is a mystery and on top of that he is irresistible. Can she overlook all the craziness that seems to come out every time he feels threatened or will she just settle for something easier?

Brock deserves a second chance, but he is the only one that has the power to make it happen, to let go of his fears and take a chance on her. And maybe then, him and his son will finally have that missing piece they have been looking for.

Siren Reborn, the next sizzling addition in the Texas Siren Series, from New York Times bestselling author Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak, is available now!

What an exciting book! Kitten has been a part of everyone’s story and now is her turn to find her HEA.

Life has been hard on her and almost broke her, but there is something really strong about her that no one has been able to destroy, she has faith.

Faith in people, and love and that one day she will find what she deserves.

Cole hasn’t taken a Sub in a long time, but there was something about Kitten that called to him. He is known for taking the broken ones and fixing them, but he can’t seem to know what to do with her.

Mason’s life is in ruins, his job is hell and his love life nonexistent, life after Cole has not been easy. He is carrying around pain that comes from a broken heart and a deep thirst for revenge, for what he did to him, how he turned his back and destroyed everything he loved.

Kitten is what will bring them back together, because they both can’t resist her needs. She is the perfect sub for them, and they will have to work together to help her find her true self, to become free from the fear that binds her.

I LOVED this book; it shows how strong people can be and how overcoming even the biggest nightmares is a doable thing if you work for it. It also portraits the Master as a normal human being, that has fears and makes mistakes, not this perfects cold figure, how a true Dom is supposed to be.

The entire story is exciting and thrilling like all Texas Sirens Books. And it captures us with that exquisite type of mystery that we need to solve to survive.
Amazing!

Siren Reborn teaser 1 (1).jpg

Excerpt:

Kitten found herself smiling as she entered the living room. When Ms. Hamilton had told her the police were here to talk to Mason, she’d gotten scared. Police tended to mean someone was in serious trouble, and perhaps Mason was, but this was a friendly face. “Darin!”

Darin Craig was married to her friend Tara. He was also a Dom at The Club. A tall, well-built man, Darin gave her a grin before opening his arms to her. He was athletic, with dark hair and warm brown eyes. “How’s our Kitty Cat?”

After the pressure of the day, it was good to see someone she knew. She walked into his hug, wrapping her arms around his neck and accepting the needed affection. The thing she missed most about The Club were the hugs and touches and handholding with friends. “I am well, Master Darin.”

“Darin.” Cole’s voice sounded positively arctic as he walked into the room.

“Wow, I thought she was your sub, Cole. I didn’t know she belonged to Detective Craig.” Mason’s voice wasn’t exactly warm, either. “Have the rules of The Club changed, then? Is Julian allowing Doms to manhandle someone else’s sub?”

Darin slowly released her, an apologetic expression on his face. He took a step back, holding his hands up as though in surrender. “Sorry about that. Kitty Cat is just a friend.”

“Kitten or Katherine is preferred,” Cole said between gritted teeth.

“Her name is a term of affection. You don’t need to come up with your own.” Mason stood beside Cole, both men frowning Darin’s way.

She’d done something wrong again. “Master Darin is only a friend. He’s my friend’s husband. There’s nothing going on between us.”

Cole stopped glaring at Darin and seemed at a loss for what to say. “Sweetheart, I wasn’t trying to say something about you.”

Mason’s expression softened. “What the Master is trying to say is he knows how sweet you are. He became jealous when he saw you in another man’s arms. You’re gorgeous, honey. You have to expect that men will get possessive.”

He was a charmer. She knew exactly what he was doing and still couldn’t help the smile that crossed her face.

“Mason is right. I was jealous. You rarely hug me with such enthusiasm,” Cole said.

Master Cole wanted hugs? He seemed so distant that she held herself apart, but what if he simply wasn’t sure how to ask for what he needed? Doms were merely men. Kitten gave him her most brilliant smile and basically tackled him. If her Master needed affection, she would be the one to give it to him.

Cole’s big arms wound around her, and she felt him sigh as he lifted her up. He was so big. Her feet didn’t touch the floor, but she loved how secure she felt with him when he touched her. It was only when they were apart that she worried. Cole rubbed their cheeks together. “I am sorry I scared you before, love. I don’t ever want you to be afraid of me.”

“No, Sir. I won’t be afraid.” She was still smiling as he lowered her down. She turned to Mason. He was a man who needed hugs, too, but she worried that her Master wouldn’t like it.

Cole chuckled. “Go on, then. I’ll simply have to deal with the fact that you’re an affectionate thing. Hug away.”

She gave Mason a gentler hug, well aware he was still not feeling well. When she was done, she placed herself between them, enjoying how the two big men surrounded her. “Master Darin, were you attempting to begin an inappropriate affair with me? Because I have to warn you, I promised Tara I wouldn’t sleep with you when she wasn’t around.”

Tara and Darin were always joking about their crazy sex life. They loved it when their friends joined in. Not for the sex, but for the laughter.

Darin let loose a laugh. “I will remember that in the future, Kitty Ca, uhm, Kitten.” He sobered. “I didn’t come here to see you. I came to talk to Mason. You left the hospital before I got there. I was surprised to find out you were at Cole’s.”

Darin knew Mason. That was interesting. Darin and Tara had been playing at The Club for the entirety of their marriage. Ten years. They had likely been friendly with Cole when Mason had been his submissive.

Tara was getting a phone call later because she was utterly fascinated with the men and why they had broken up.

And maybe, just maybe, she could tell Kitten how she could get them back together.

She hadn’t missed how the two men had looked at each other. Yes, there had been suspicion and anger in their gazes, but there had been such a spark, and Master Cole was already softening up and it had everything to do with Mason. Mason had walked in the door and suddenly the house seemed warmer, more filled with emotion.
