The Playboy Bachelor (The Bachelors of Arizona #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

My Rating:  5 Stars
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Series: Yes, The Bachelors of Arizona #2.
Subject: A Second chance at love.
Synopsis
She's no Sleeping Beauty. And he's definitely no prince . . . Margot McCleery could have lived her whole life without seeing Bentley Wellington again-her ex-best friend and the poster boy for Hot, Rich Man-Whores everywhere. But Margot's whiskey-augmented grandmother "buys" Bentley at a charity bachelor auction, and now suddenly he's at her door. Impossibly charming. Impossibly sexy. And still a complete and utter jackass. Bentley's just been coerced by his grandfather to spend the next thirty days charming and romancing the reclusive red-haired beauty who hates him. The woman he abandoned when she needed him the most. Bentley knows just as much about romance as he knows about love-nothing. But the more time he spends with Margot, the more he realizes that "just friends" will never be enough. Now all he has to do is convince her to trust him with her heart . . .

My Review

Book given in exchange of an honest review.

I loved the first book in the series and this one was no exception!

Now it's Bentley's turn to face the matchmakers and he is in for a wild and rough ride. The story begins where we left of in the first book, he has been bought and he is spending a weekend with this mysterious woman (for us till now) from his past.

Bentley surprised me, he seemed like such an idiot when we first met him, don't get me wrong he was funny but he treated women like they worthless toys and that didn't sit well with me.

In this book we meet his exception. Margot suffered a great loss and she hasn't been the same since, she has lost touch with the world and with herself, and it's his job to get her back.

The story was fun and I couldn't put the book down! They are perfect together, even when they fight you can see how much they know each other and how deeply they care about one another.

Their attraction hasn't changed even though they haven't been close for years. They fight every step of the way, but realising they are still those two kids who couldn't stay apart is their biggest challenge.

Bentley had far more issues than what he showed us at first, he is so scared of losing that he just took himself out of the game altogether. But if he wants the HEA he needs to fight for it, risking everything, because true love never comes easy, or so they say.

Dancing in the Rain by Kelly Jamieson

My Rating:  4 Stars
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Series: No.
Subject: Live your life as if each day was your last.

Synopsis

A retired athlete meets the daughter he never knew—along with the woman who reignites his passions—in this powerful standalone romance from the bestselling author of Hot Shot and the Heller Brothers series.

Drew Sellers is drowning in broken dreams and empty beer bottles. Hockey was his world, until a bum knee reduced him from superstar to has-been. Then he learns that, thanks to a one-night-stand back in college, he’s the father of a preteen girl with major issues. Her protective aunt sees right through Drew’s BS, but “Auntie P” is no stereotypical spinster. With her slender curves, toned legs, and luscious lips, she has Drew indulging in fantasies that aren’t exactly family-friendly.

At another point in her life, Peyton Watt would have been all over a cocky alpha male who pushes all her buttons like Drew. Right now, though, she needs to focus on taking care of her niece during her sister’s health crisis, all while holding down a job and keeping her own head above water. Besides, Drew’s clearly no father of the year. He’s unemployed. He drinks too much. And he’s living in the past. But after Peyton gets a glimpse of the genuine man behind his tough-guy façade, she’s hooked—and there’s no going back.

My Review

Book given in exchange of an honest review.

Another Kelly Jamieson success, in this book we get to fall in love with Drew, Peyton, Chloe and Sarah. Their story is not all hearts and rainbows but it's a real one, they help each other become better persons; by being together they become stronger and there's nothing they can't face.

They have been put in an impossible situation and Drew steps up and becomes who they need him to be, he is ready to do anything to help them.
He discovers he is much stronger than he though he was, and that helps him move on from his own problems.

Peyton is loosing everything and her life is changing faster than she can handle. On top of all that there's him, he is everything she wants and she can't have him.

I love the chemistry between the characters, they are perfect for each other, and we get to read about them fighting their attraction until there's nothing they can do to stop it.

An amazing tale about love in all it's forms, and just how far are you willing to go for the people you care about.

It all about enjoying every moment like it was your last, even if that means dancing in the rain.

Synopsis

And when it comes to love, serving it straight up works better than with a twist.

My Review

Book given in exchange of an honest review.

I really enjoy all of the books I'm given for reviewing; I got to know some amazing authors and their impressive work, but I have to admit it's always a thrill when I get a chance to read and review a book from one of my favorite authors.
I've fallen in love with Kylie's writing and characters when I first stumbled upon Lick and the Stage Dive series and now I get to do the same with these amazing bunch in the Dive Bar Series.

This time we get to read about Joe and Alex, they weren't each other's type or that is what they thought, but life had some surprises in store for them.

Their first encounter couldn't have gone worse and it seems there's no way they could ever see eye to eye again, Alex can't stand liars and in her eyes, this stranger is just that.

Joe has a great challenge in front of him, he needs to convince this intriguing woman, that he is not a liar and that everything was just a small mistake, so she can trust him again.

Their story is entertaining and has some uncomfortable moments for sure; how weird could it be to get to know someone and at the same time realize that you know them more than you though you did.

What will she do when she realizes that almost everything was true and she has known Joe for a long time?

Sparks fly and they need to get over their pride and fears before its too late. True love doesn't take into account your supposed tastes or whether you live close or far away; it just hits you and the only thing you can do is try to survive the fall.

Joe is my type of alpha, he is strong and sweet just in the right amounts, get ready to fall in love!

Excerpt

Hit the road to Spokane. Sure, I’d be loitering around the airport for hours and hours, but even that had to beat rehashing my oh- so-recent embarrassing past with this guy.
What I really wanted to do was swan-dive into a big soft bed and sleep for about a week. Too bad that wasn’t an option.
Opposite me, Joe sat forward in his seat, arms braced on the table. I’d returned to my usual attire, skinny jeans and boots (there were only two pairs of socks and about a hundred Band-Aids covering my poor blistered feet) and a black bulky, comfy sweater. No makeup or hair styling, that’s for sure. If the man was surprised by the lack of last night’s glamour, it didn’t show.
With all the body-shaping underwear, lip gloss, heels, and tiny dress, you could almost say I’d been fibbing about who I was. His lie, however, left my Spanx and push-up bra way behind.
We both stayed silent, watching each other warily.
A cute, perky waitress appeared, smile stretched wide at the sight of Joe. A curious gaze looked me over, then dismissed me. I swear, it took the woman no more than a nanosecond to decide I wasn’t any competition for my disheveled, hirsute, tattooed companion. Little did she know I’d always thought Jean Grey in X- Men got it right, Cyclops was a way better bet than Wolverine. All of that testosterone and bad attitude mixed with a screwy face and general give no shits about his appearance was not so wonderful. In all honesty, I’d take cool, calm, and well kept over anger management and body hair issues any day of the week. Joe was all hers. She turned slightly and hitched her hip, subtly blocking me out of the conversation.
Oh yeah, I’d be leaving her a real big tip. Something along the lines of “fuck off.”
“Hey,” purred the waitress. “Good to see you, Joe.”
“Hi, Jess.”
“The usual?”
Joe turned to me, apparently unaware he was being oh so obviously hit on. Interesting, his eyes were hazel in the sun, chocolate brown flecked with amber. Last night they’d seemed dark and furtive, brimming over with secrets and lies, but this morning, he was just a guy. Funnily enough, one I thought I’d known, though it turned out I hadn’t had a clue. Or maybe it was the other way around. I thought I hadn’t known much about him, but actually in a strange sort of way I did—which only complicated things further.
“They do great coffee and fresh juices here,” he said. “Excellent pancakes. Sound good?”
“Sure.”
Again, a small, safe smile, then he ordered for both of us. I did my best to tune out Joe and the waitress. Proving she had all the moves, however, cute, perky waitress then placed a hand on the table and leaned forward, giving the man a clear view down her shirt. All right, so I might have had a bit of breast envy on account of my minimal mammaries. And yeah, care of recent events and my head cold, my mood registered right around crap level. But if she was the universe’s way of messing with me, in an effort to pass along the message that Joe was in fact attractive, well . . . duh. I already knew that. Beards and bulk were on many a woman’s wish list. They just hadn’t been on mine. Could be I’d watched Keanu Reeves in The Matrix one too many times. That slick dark hair and cool out ts. Rawr.
“Are you sure I can’t get you anything else, Joe?” she asked, sucking on the end of her pen in a manner that would have made a porn star feel mildly uncomfortable.
“No, I think we’re good.” Joe looked my way. “Alex?” “All good over here.”
“Thanks, Jess.”
“Tell Eric I said hi,” said the waitress.
Joe gave her a friendly smile. “Will do.”
With a wiggle of the fingers, cute waitress sashayed her tiny little butt back o inside. Yes, fine. I’m a little sensitive about the size of my ass too. In all honestly, my issues are many.
“Friendly girl,” I muttered, hunkering down in my black wool coat.
Joe said nothing.
“Hypothetical question,” I said, my chin inching up a bit. “A waiter hits on the woman you’re with, what do you do?”
He blinked. “There a reason for this question?”
“Just curious.” I shook my head. “Never mind.”
It’s not like it mattered, because after this unfortunate breakfast we’d probably never cross paths again. So the waitress had rubbed me the wrong way. Such was life. Let it go. Move forward. Blah blah blah.
He cleared his throat. “If a waiter hits on the girl I’m with, I do nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Not unless it’s upsetting her.”
Hmm. “Why only then?”
“If it’s not upsetting her, then the problem’s mine.” He settled back in his chair, stretching out his long legs and crossing them at the ankle. “Make a big deal out of it and I look like a jealous douche bag who doesn’t trust his woman to ignore that sort of shit.”
“What if she enjoys that sort of shit?”
“Then I’m with the wrong woman.”
“Huh.”
“What about you? What if a man you were on a date with started flirting with the waitress?”
“Then I’m out of there.” I sighed and stared off down the street. Downtown Coeur d’Alene was a pretty place. And a somewhat strange one. “That is a very colorful moose.”
Joe turned in his chair, peering through the window at the brilliantly painted statue on the corner. “Yeah. They do different art installations every summer then sell them o as a fundraiser at the end of the season to pay the artists.”
“Wow.”
“Moose were the theme one year. Another time we had fountains on every corner. It was a little crazy,” he said.
“Cool.”
He tipped his chin, studying me.
I took the opportunity to sniffle. So feminine.
“I wanted to talk to you a bit more about what happened between us online,” he said, his mouth a serious straight line. “How I came to use my brother’s profile.”
Ugh. “I’m pretty sure I found out everything I needed to know last night.”
“I didn’t mean to lie to you, Alex.”
“Once is a mistake.” I crossed my legs, kicking my black leather bootie back and forth. So I was a little aggravated. Sue me. “Months’ worth of emails is not. You could have introduced yourself to me, Joe, told me who you really were. You chose not to. Christ, no wonder you kept putting off meeting. I should have known something was wrong.”
“You’re right. I shouldn’t try to sell you excuses.”

My Review
Book given in exchange of an honest review.

I'm in love with this series! It has just the right amount of mystery, excitement and crazy good sex scenes.

Let's not forget these hot alpha males of the Council, I loved each and every story about them and I can't wait for the next one.

This time it was Ryder's turn, he always seemed so controlled and cold, but in this book we see him loose a bit of that while he crumbles under Hadley's feet.

He feels he has a duty towards her father and that tortures him through the whole book, but we know that an attraction as strong as theirs can't be stopped and he is loosing the battle against his mind.

Hadley knows she has wanted him since she was young, he is everything she needs and nothing will get in her way of getting him. She has demons of her own and she needs Ryder to save her; it's a challenge he can't resist, once he truly sees her there's no turning back.

They are fighting together against a common enemy and at the same time trying to figure out how they feel about each other.

The book is full of thrilling and suspenseful moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I couldn't put the book down.

The Mistakes (Off-Limits #3) by Elizabeth Brown

My Rating:  5 Stars
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Series: Yes, Dirty Little Secrets #3.
Subject: When you think Romance is dead...
Synopsis
It started as a promise.
A momentary lapse in sanity had me agreeing to two months of celibacy.
Then Mark Bishop showed up. My new boss was cocky, possessive, and unfortunately, sexy as hell.
My first mistake?
Thinking I would last two months.

The Mistakes - A Sexy Office Romance
Book III in the Off-Limits Series - Winnie and Mark's story.
Dual POV. A standalone.

Warning: This story contains mature humor, a lot of cursing, and of course, sexual situations. It’s intended for adult readers who enjoy that kind of thing.

My Review

Book given by the author in exchange of an honest review.

I have been waiting for this book for so long! I love this group of sexy men and strong women so much!

Since the begging of the series I knew this would be my new happy imaginary place to live, who wouldn't want these sexy strong men who knew what they wanted and took it; and these amazing, beautiful and hilarious strong women, who can handle everything life has planned for them? I felt connected to them from the start.

Winnie is strong, crazy and she is not afraid to get what she wants when she wants it, but unfortunately, even though she doesn't accept it yet, it can be pretty lonely. She has never needed anyone, she is happy with her life the way it is, or so she thinks.

Then comes Mark, she didn't even saw him until he was up close and in her business. My first impression of him was that he was a player and so was Winnie's. She though he knew what type of guy he was and she challenged him, little did she know that he never lost.

She is scared of him, of the feelings he evokes in her, and that could be a problem for them since she is a runner, and she is not ready to deal with her feelings just yet.

A beautiful story! Mark totally surprised me, he turn out to be such a strong and open guy that it was impossible not to fall for him.

The connection they share is unbelievable, but what might have started as just sex is now turning into a romance that includes Jane Austen, so be prepared!

Fighting for Love (Boston Love #2) by Kelly Elliott

My Rating:  5 Stars
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Series: Yes, Boston Love #2.
Subject: Facing your fears and finding out what you want from life.
Synopsis
A larger-than-life firefighter inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Searching for Harmony.

Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.

Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.

Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

My Review
Book given in exchange of an honest review.

Another Ward brother bites the dust and we couldn’t be happier!
This time its Finn’s turn and we get to know him and his player ways a little bit more, until he sees her.
Rory‘s life has always been about working and making her parents happy, but she doesn’t have time for anything else.

Finn comes into her life and everything changes, she can’t seem to resist him, even though she knows that being with him could bring her a lot of problems.

I love a good old “bad boy turning good boy” story, Finn had his doubts but he knew what he wanted, and he never went back to his old ways, he was true to his feelings and that’s why I fell hard for him.

Even when he was being rejected time after time, he kept looking for her; he knew that the feeling he had meant something more.

Rory was a sweet character; she was just the right amount of inexperienced to make things interesting between them. Without even meaning to she spiked Finn’s male ownership instinct and there was no running away after that.

Like in all Kelly Elliot’s novels, the characters get to crossroad and in this case it’s Rory that needs to stop being afraid and embrace her feelings.  True love doesn’t have time for second guessing or fear. If you want the HEA you have to be strong enough to face your deepest and darkest fears, because if you don’t have those, then it’s probably not true love.

A beautiful story about love and life, and how everything can change when you find that special person; maybe what you though was important is not anymore. You might end up being surprised at what you are willing to give up for love.

The Unyielding (Call of Crows #3) by Shelly Laurenston

My Rating:  5 Stars
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Series: Yes, Call of Crows #3.
Subject: Stopping the end of times and finding your HEA.
Synopsis
Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand…

Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humourless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.

With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one…

My Review

Book given in exchange of an honest review on Netgalley.

I was so excited to get to read about my beloved Crows and Ravens and the rest of the clans again. Ever since I started with this series I couldn't put them down for a second, I think I finished every book in less than a day, that's how good they are.

The only thing I don't like about this book is the cover, Stieg looks so much more Viking in my mind! This guy is hot, don't get me wrong but he is not savage hot, so I'll just stick to my mental image of him (mmm Travis Fimmel) Moving on...

This book takes us back to the current problem the clans are facing, "the end on times" and they seemed to have found a way to avoid it, but it's not gonna be easy.

The plot action centres around Erin, and I couldn't be happier, she is one of my favourite characters; crazy, fun and seems to be always getting on everyone's nerves, it's definitely fun to read.

Her plans take her directly to Stieg and she can't seem to shake him off, and not sure if she really wants to. He is sweet, strong, considerate and a hot Viking, What more can she ask for?
Both of them are scared of each other, more than they are of the end of times that's approaching. They are a perfect match, even though they fight it at first, they complement each other perfectly.

Watching them fight for their lives and get closer than ever was exciting and thrilling, it is as always an amazing read!

Can't wait for the next one!!!
