Lionheart: a Beauty & the Beast Retelling by Fran Seen

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, An Online Romance book.
Sex Scenes: Actually, not sex scenes, more of sensual ones !
Subject: Living again, after life has broken you into a million pieces.
Synopsis
An Arab-American soldier and a stargazing woman connect in this high-tech Beauty and the Beast retelling.

In an attempt to pay off her family’s debts, Lula answers a Craigslist ad for a job opening at the formerly vacant Bluegrass Manor. A stern and brooding man offers her the job, but there’s a catch—Lula isn’t allowed to look at him. No one in the manor has ever laid eyes on Mr. Rahim’s face. Although, Mr. Rahim has eyes on everyone—security footage relays on a constant loop in his office.

Everything Lula isn’t meant to notice about Mr. Rahim intrigues her: the cadence of his accented voice, the stoutness of his build, and his self-imposed prison that mirrors her own.

Lionheart is a romance of huge stakes that asks one question: Is love enough to mend a broken soul?

My Review
I got this book by the author for an honest review, and if you have read and loved the other books in the Online Romance series, you will love this one.

I wouldn't call it an online romance, but I guess it kind of was, since they didn't get to really see each other.

This beauty and the beast retelling was perfect for me! The story was entertaining and captivating, I have to accept I did an all nighter with this one and I DON'T REGRET IT! not even a little bit (I'm actually yawning while writing this... worth it!)

About the characters, Alo is a damaged soul, his body and his heart were broken and he can't seem to find a way of gluing himself back together; but he finds silence and peace in watching Lula dance around on the house.

Lula was a difficult character to relate to, her addiction to helping people who didn't deserve it had her being pushed around and disrespected for too much time.
She is a beautiful person, with so much love to give, that's been wasted on people who don't appreciate it, I felt sad for her and frustrated A LOT during the first half of the book.

As we get to know them better and they do the same with each other, we realise how perfect they are together.

Sometimes life makes us feel as if no one could relate to our pain, like we are an island of loneliness and hurt, but most times we just cant see through our own pain.
We ignore other people's real problems and hurting, even though its just in front of us.

This book teaches us, to take a step back from our own hell and really look around, we are never alone, we just have to let people in.

And maybe someday the pain wont hurt that much, and everything we went through would be worth it.
