A Man of Character (Matters of Love #1) by Margaret Locke

My Rating: 5 Stars

Series: Matters of Love #1

Sex Scenes: Yes.

Subject: Falling in love again and figuring out what you want for yourself.

Summary:
What would you do if you discovered the men you were dating were fictional characters you'd created long ago?

Thirty-five-year-old Catherine Schreiber has shelved love for good. Keeping her ailing bookstore afloat takes all her time, and she’s perfectly fine with that. So when several men ask her out in short order, she’s not sure what to do…especially since something about them seems eerily familiar.

Caught between fantasy and reality, Cat must decide which—or whom—she wants more.

Blending humor with unusual twists, including a magical manuscript, a computer scientist in shining armor, and even a Regency ball, A Man of Character tells a story not only of love, but also of the lengths we'll go for friendship, self-discovery, and second chances.

My Review

I got this book by the author for an honest review and it was just PERFECT!

The main character in this story is a woman who's had a tough time in the past years of her life and who suddenly gets her life changed drastically.

The mystery of this strange book she’s found changes her in lots of ways, it awakens her and frees her from the reclusive life she’s been having.

During the book she meets this amazing men who each show her different things about herself she had forgotten or didn’t know she had in her.

The characters are amazing, we have three perfect men each in their own way, so different from each other who are just too good to be true and then there’s this simple guy who she never thought she would like but the mystery within him and her reaction to him are leaving her breathless.

This is a story of lust love and loss, she gets confronted with the different things that made her who she is and it shows us how we change through our life, how different events change our perspective and wants; and it ultimately teaches us about letting go of our fear and insecurities, and never ever choose the easy road.

Even if it seems easier, it doesn’t mean it would be the best way to go and even if the uncertainty seems scary, we should always go with what our heart tells us.

Never be afraid of putting yourself out there and fighting for what you want, life might surprise you.

It also shows that sometimes you need to let go of the people you love, because you love them, it might be difficult but in the end you need to let them find their happiness.
It could be friends, family or even an ex-lover who you just keep close because you are afraid of being alone.

She gets lost in the wind whirl of things and in my opinion it’s the only way to get back home, to who she really is, who she lost along the way.

It’s a beautiful love story in more than one way, super funny and with lots and lots of sexy men, and you know what they say… love always finds a way.

Note to the author: thank you for this beautiful love story, they are one in a million! I fell in love with each and every one of them.

If you are already in love with the characters...
