My Review
I got this book, as well as the first one, on Netgalley for an honest review.
This story has been discussed on our Reading group, since we had Dirty Dix as a BOM, and most people found it hard to read, I have to say I did hate the fact that Dixon lied, A LOT, and like I said on the last review I was shouting at the book to get all the frustration out.
Regardless of everything I just mentioned, I think that a good story and a good book are the ones where you connect with the characters, for good or bad reasons, and in this case we all knew that his lies were going to explode in his face and that kept me on the edge of my seat for the duration of the second book.
I connected with their pain, and I felt sorry for him when he felt like he was not good enough for her.
So, as a conclusion I would say that I liked the second book, it was definitely better than the first one.
We get to know a little bit more about Dixon, and realize that not everything in him is as bad as it seemed at first, he makes wrong choices but we know he means good, he is fighting for her on his own way.
Madison becomes a stronger character, I was under the impression that learning the truth would break her but she was so much stronger than that, Dixon underestimated her A LOT.
I would say that the clear message in this book is to not lie to the person you love, the truth is always better than the lie, and we all know that eventually the truth surface and then things really get complicated.
I personally hate liars, and think that a lie is one of the most difficult things to forgive and get over, because when you lose trust on someone you don’t always get it back.
