Heartbreaker (Filthy Dirty Love #1) by Stacey Kennedy

My Rating: 4 Stars
Series: No.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: The man who wouldn't commit and the girl made for loving.
Synopsis
Handcuffs aren’t just part of their job in this sizzling new STANDALONE novel by USA Today bestselling author, Stacey Kennedy.

Veteran cop, Maddox Hunt, is all about the job. Sure, there are women—lots of women, truth be told—but there’s no one special. Until a one-night stand from his past, rookie Joss O’Neil is assigned to his division. Suddenly, all he can think about is her. The scent of her. The taste of her.

Fresh out of field training, Joss has thrown herself into her job, determined to kick-start her career. And while police work has its thrills, her gorgeous new boss is what really gets her pulse pounding. Too bad he’s nothing but a distraction. Especially since he’s as devastatingly handsome as she remembers, and his sexy smile arrests her heart.

Now that Joss is back in Maddox’s life, he has a plan: satisfy her fantasies and fulfill his every dark desire. Nothing is off limits. Her pleasure is the endgame . . . but even the best-laid plans have a way of falling apart. Despite his best attempts to keep his distance and have things remain only about the pleasure, Maddox soon finds himself breaking the only law he’s set for himself. Don’t fall in love.

My Review

I got this book for an honest review by the author and it was a fun and sexy read.

I enjoyed the main characters a lot, the fact that the book starts off with this amazing crazy good sex scene just captured me.

They had nothing to hide from the start, they were both honest through the whole book and that was a refreshing thing to read. We are used to characters having secrets and trying to portrait something they are not and ending up suffering because of it. But in this case it was a natural development, they might suffer a bit but it's just because they were both afraid and just needed to face their fears.

Maddox was just superb, where to start? he was perfection, the original bad boy with commitment issues but always honest to his feelings to the very end, he didn't hesitate to go after her when he realised he wanted seconds and that was the best move to make.

Joss was sweet and smart, and she was looking for something more out of life, she had a bad experience and she needed something different and Maddox was just that.

The sex scenes were amazing, the connection and chemistry between them was just too good, I have to catch my breath a couple of times. It had the perfect combination of vanilla and BDSM, just exquisite.

A must read in my opinion, get it now!

My Review

I got this book by the author for an honest review and like always it was AMAZING! I don't know how she does it, but her books keep getting better and better and this one is no exception! Another perfect story Isabella! Congratulations!

About this book, I can start with Mason's intensity OMG, he has built up his persona so good, it's scary good but still for a newbie like Cara, it might seem like too much at first.

She was a bit annoying at first, a little brat, but she really surprised me when she learned and became the woman we all wanted her to be, the kind that can give Mason a run for his money.

The way in which he is obsessed with her and has everything planned might seem bit too much for some people, so if you don't like taboo subjects then I recommend you not to read this book. Now in the other hand if you do enjoy that then why are you still here? this is the book for you.

The sexual chemistry between the characters is perfect, and I couldn't get enough of Mason's punishments, who wouldn't want to misbehave if that was the reward/punishment you got.
Fun fact...I was reading it on a plane and I have to warn you that I got super uncomfortable a couple of times when I had to stop and take a breather after some of this scenes, and remembered where I was. I kept blushing super hard! Just SO good and intense!

One of my favorite things about Isabella's books is the alpha male characters we get to meet, I am obsessed with them, I want to live in your books forever.

I know it's already implied but this is a MUST read!

Wrecking Ball (Hard To Love #1) by P. Dangelico

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Hard To Love #1
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Opening your heart again.
Synopsis
Cam DeSantis’ life is a hot, steaming pile. How else would you describe losing your husband, your job, and your money all at once? Desperate times call for desperate measures, so when salvation comes in the form of one intolerable a-hole, who just happens to be the starting quarterback for the vaunted NY Titans, she has no choice but to accept his offer as a live-in nanny slash teacher for his eight year old nephew. Now all she has to do is find a safe place in her mind to hide whenever she feels the need to throat punch him into tomorrow…which is often.

Calvin Shaw has zero interest in women. Wait, wait––let me rephrase that. He loves women, he just doesn’t want anything to do with ‘um. Not since his wife, presently ex-wife, got knocked up by the guy she was cheating on him with. Problem is...there’s one living in his house. And he doesn’t know what’s worse, that he promised to be civil, or that he’s attracted to her.

The protagonist of this stand alone novel has a propensity for profanity and sexual shenanigans. You've been warned.

My Review

Book given in exchange of an honest review on Netgalley,

I loved this book from the start! I found the characters hilarious and intense; and since the sex scenes are far into the book we get to know them pretty well before anything happens and that made the connection between them much stronger which definitely  hooked us up!

Cam has been through A LOT, and it's not figurative speech, her life has been ruined, her husband died and now she has no job and no money.

Even though all of those things are happening to her, she is still strong enough to stand up for herself, and that made me love her from the start.

During our lives we may hit some rough patches and it's not about who suffers the most, it's about how we overcome this situations and she is a perfect example of that.

But she still needs a job, and there comes Calvin, he was such a weird moody character from the start, that I couldn't put my finger on what he wanted out of Cam.
But he starts to shed his outer self preservation coverage and bit by bit we start to see this really good man, who has had a hard time in life and is now guarded.

The fascinating part about this book is that there's a point in which you are so deep inside the story and so connected to the characters that you forget about how they were before. In that moment your mind knows that Calvin's eyes where always these expressive, and that Cam could never keep her hands of him.

Calvin surprised me the most, he was such a pure soul. He had been always a romantic, and that was hard to tell from our first impression, but then he uncovers little bits of himself that leave Cam speechless.

I really fell for this characters, the author did an amazing job in making them super relatable and so likeable that you can't stop yourself from crying alongside them and wanting to be Cam's best friend and help her in her bad moments.

A must read!

Flawed (Ethan Frost #4) by Tracy Wolff

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Ethan Frost #4
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Learning to do things on your own and trusting yourself.
Synopsis
The bestselling Ethan Frost series introduces a tantalizing new hero—and the broken woman only he can save. Discover why Beth Kery once declared that readers of Tracy Wolff will “fall in love under the spell of a master.”

When Tori Reed loses everything, he sets her free.

I told myself I’d never trust Miles Girard, no matter how brilliant or sexy he may be. His sister, Chloe—Ethan Frost’s wife—is my best friend, but I know just how low Miles will stoop to get what he wants. Now he’s the last thing I want: my boss.

Growing up, I had it all—except for the sense that I belonged. And when a mistake from my past surfaces in the press, my parents don’t hesitate to cut me off.

But surprisingly, Miles offers me a helping hand.

Before I know it, our relationship turns unprofessional in the hottest ways. Of course, he still drives me crazy. But when I’m dealt the ultimate blow, Miles is there for me. And maybe he’s the one I’ve been looking for all along.

My Review

I got this book for an honest review on Netgalley and I truly fell in love with Miles from the moment I read about him.

Their relationship was not based in love at first sight, they actually hated each other so much they couldn't stand being close, but under all the animosity there was some stronger feeling lurking.

Tori was a hard character to love at first, she was too judgemental about Miles, she didn't even know the whole story and the kept blaming him and treating him like dirt.

Miles loved their banter, he was a little scared of her at first, but he couldn't see that it was all a facade. She was hiding, just like he was, and they wouldn't get a chance to really connect until they tore down their walls.

The story was hilarious and beautiful, they were two damaged souls, that had some crazy attraction going on, but they got everything wrong at first.
He wanted to be the knight in shinning armour and protect her from the world, but that wasn't what she needed.
Tori, wanted to feel independent so bad, she forgot that sometimes people do things just because they love us and want to help us, and it's not bad to let them; that doesn't make us weaker, it actually makes us stronger because we have them to back us up.

Is all about finding an equilibrium, you need to be independent and strong but you can also have the support and help from your love ones, because sometimes we are just not strong enough.

ALL BOOK BOYFRIEND NOVELS:
Hot as Sin
Hot and Heavy
Hot as Hell
Hot as it Gets

My Review

I got this book by the authors for an honest review and I couldn't put it down.

Wes and Natalie's story was perfect from the start, I loved them! They had this great relationship based in their constant competition which made sparks fly like crazy when they were around each other.

The whole bet matter was just a bad idea from the start, or maybe it was the best idea they could have had, since spending more time together helped them to really get to know each other.

Wes was the perfect guy, except for his insecurities regarding serious relationships, but he was irresistible for Natalie and who knows, maybe he can change and let himself love too.
They were both afraid of being hurt, Natalie knew personally how that felt like, and Wes had a pretty rough upbringing that scarred him for life.

The problem they now face is that they both need to let go if they want to find true happiness.
Sometimes life surprises you and with just one simple small choice everything can change.

The Sex scenes were so good, I thought they couldn't get any better and then came the next one, even sexier and better than the first. They had just the right amount of kinkiness.

It was a perfect story, the best combination between funny and sexy, a must read!

Worth the Wait (Kingston Ale House #4) by A.J. Pine

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Kingston Ale House #4.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Mr. right couldn't have chosen a worst time.
Synopsis
I like to think of myself as a man of pleasure…

I enjoy a good pint of ale, being in the arms of a beautiful woman, and living by my own rules. The only thing I try to avoid? Commitment. And I’ve got a three-year success rate to prove it.

I wasn’t planning on Grace—the beautiful, funny, totally off-limits massage therapist who keeps popping up in my life. She’s on a six-month mission to rid her life of toxins. No alcohol. No red meat. And, yeah, no men. I’m talking full-on man cleanse.

I know I should walk away, but I can’t…and the only way to keep her in my life is to live by her rules. I’ll need to prove to a woman who’s lost all trust in men that I’m worthy of her love. And do it all without so much as a single kiss.

The only problem? If I win, I’ll lose the one thing I swore I’d never give up. My heart.

Each book in the Kingston Ale House series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

My Review

I got this book for an honest review on Netgalley and I loved it, just like the rest of the series. This time we get to read about Jeremy's story and it's full of funny scenes and super sexy moments.

Grace was such a beautiful character, she was hurt and she had this plan to cleanse herself to get back to a state of real happiness, to get an equilibrium back into her life.

But she wasn't counting on Jeremy, this sexy redhead came in and set everything on fire!

The sexual tension between them is off the hook from the moment they see each other.
The build up tension that starts since their first encounter scares them, but it was obvious they where perfect for each other from the start.

Grace shows some extreme self control because I don't think I could have resisted Jeremy for that long, he is just so perfect, sexy and considerate.
He was there for her every time and he took the trouble in helping her trust men again; step by step he lowered her walls and Grace found her way back to life.

The book has a nice message about moving forward and letting go of your fears of loosing and suffering.
In life you come across different people and some of them will hurt you to the point where it's hard to breathe, and you feel like your heart is so broken you will never be able to find all the pieces and stick them together again.

The being fooled and feeling like a moron is a regular one too, when you realise you should have seen it coming and can't believe you didn't.

But in the end, life just goes on, and you can't expect good things and happiness to be a constant, but it's all in the way you get your footing back, finding the perfect way to get back after a debacle.

My Review

I got this book in exchange of an honest review from the author and I couldn't put it down!

I fell in love with all of the characters like I haven't done in a while.

Since before Christmas I've found myself in a bit of a book drought, I couldn't get myself to start a new book, nothing was inspiring enough, but when I grabbed this one after new years eve I couldn't stop until I was done, it was just perfect.

The story we get to read is not about the complete and constant happiness of the characters, because like in real life, bad things happen and the important thing is how we are able to move forward from this occurrences.

Life is about finding a way to overcome the pain, the loneliness and facing our deepest fears, and only then we are able to be our true selves, to accomplish real happiness.

The way in which the author captures the pain and suffering of each of these different characters is amazing. She puts us in their shoes, and is able to show us how deep some things can affect people and that we should never judge anyone who is in pain, based on what they are going through, because we are all different and are affected in completely distinct ways.

The two main stories in the book are about four people who are going through hell, and learning to live again. They find strength within each other and we can all hope that if some day we find ourselves in their shoes, we can find someone as them to hold on to and lean on.

Like life itself, there are bad moments for all of the characters in this new journey, but it's all about the way in which they fix it, they make mistakes but are now strong enough to fight through and get back on top.

A beautiful story, that is a must read in my book !

And like always, I got my favourites, Daisy and Carter were it for me! The way in which she experiences everything for the first time is just to sweet and perfect, I connected to her the most.

Beyond the Carousel (Wyattsville #5) by Bette Lee Crosby

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Wyattsville #5.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: An inside view of the life of a regular and real family.

Synopsis
A FAMILY TRAGEDY, A 25 YEAR OLD MURDER, AND A DETECTIVE DETERMINED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT...

Laura Wilkes has everything a woman could want when she snaps the carousel picture. Her daughter, a happy little five-year-old, is holding the brass ring and smiling at a daddy who adores her. Each time the carousel circles around Laura snaps another picture, seven in all. This is a day of unforgettable happiness; one of the few Laura has left.

In the months following the stock market crash, Franklin Wilkes is killed; gunned down in senseless act of vengeance. The police know who did it, but the man has disappeared. It’s the height of the depression and there are hoards of nameless, faceless men living in freight train yards and back alleys. The murderer is never caught, but Laura and Emory, her father, never give up hope of finding him.
Now, twenty-five years later, Laura’s daughter has fallen in love with Jack Mahoney a policeman working crowd control with the strikers at the Telephone Company.

Right now Mahoney is a rookie, he has little or no power, but Emory is hopeful he is the one person who can ultimately find Franklin’s killer and deliver the justice the family has long awaited.

Readers of the other Wyattsville books will welcome the chance to get to know the kind-hearted Spare Change detective as a young man about to fall in love.

My Review

I got this book for an honest review on Netgalley and it was a beautiful and heartbreaking story.

The author takes us on a real life story journey, where we get to meet some amazing people. Their lives are not easy, some may say they are not privileged, but in my opinion they were, they had a strong family and true love which is not something easy to come by.

They suffered big losses, this isn't a love story, there is love and happiness, but there's also, terrible loss and extreme sadness, the one that settles deep in the soul and changes you forever.

I have to say my favourite character was Laura, she was probably the one that suffered the most, but even in her darkest times she was there for her daughter and her family and most importantly she kept going, even when there was an emptiness where her heart used to be, she pushed through the pain. She did her best during the day and at night she retreated and suffered her loss till forever.

This book teaches us about true love, the one that transcend life and death, the one that has no expiration date. Once you have that, your life is changed forever and even though you don't always get the happily ever after, you are blessed to have felt it. Some people spend forever looking for this type of love.

I suffered alongside these characters and I would like to believe that having met them made me a better person, learning from their stories, and realising that sometimes we worry about little things and feel like our world is ending, but when compared to this stories we can find the strength within ourselves to push forward.
Be happy about the life we have, the people we love that are still with us, and thank our stars for the time we get to spend with them.

A truly amazing read!
