His Brat by Isabella Starling

My Rating: 4 Stars
Series: No.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Forbidden love never felt better.

Synopsis
This brat is about to be taught a lesson.
MAX
She's off limits. The one girl I can't have. Of course, I don't know that when I see her for the first time and bury myself inside her.
But I'm marrying her mother... a loveless marriage that means nothing to either of us, but still means Lola Grace can't be mine.
I wouldn't be good for her, anyway. I play hard, and f*ck harder. I'd ruin a pretty young girl like her in mere hours.
But I just can't resist... Lola Grace is too damn sweet for me to give up.

LOLA GRACE
My life changes when Max River walks into it.
He complicates everything, making me regret ever setting eyes on his tall, inked and toned body.
But at the same time, I can't let go.
I know the rules.
No kissing.
Not touching.
No talking.
No f*cking.
And I'm about to break every one of them.

My Review

Book given by the author for an honest review.

This story was hotter than hell!
From the start we get two characters that are just meant to be and they seem to be getting along just fine. But life has other plans and things get complicated to a level both of them can't fix.

Max is an amazing character, he is strong, sexy and commanding, just the way we like our bad boys to be. He has a lot of secrets and I couldn't wait to learn them all.

He kept on surprising me, when I thought I knew everything about him he just went and showed me some other deep secret part of himself, that was as irresistible as the rest.

Lola Grace is a peculiar character, she starts as a sweet scared young woman but then she evolves. She becomes a stronger version of herself, she knows what she wants and she is not taking no for an answer, even if that means confronting her mother and fighting for her man.

The story has a lot of bad moments for the main characters, and they are faced with some awful situations that change them, and make them stronger.

They have to fight for their love even if that means deifying everything they have ever known.

The sex scenes are perfection, and their connection is so deep that you can't help to fall for them both and want to exchange places with them.

Silver Threads (Memory House #5) by Bette Lee Crosby

My Rating: 4 Stars
Series: Yes, Memory House #5, but can be read as a standalone.
Sex Scenes: No.
Subject: A story about love and loss, and how to keep on living.

Synopsis

A STORY OF SECOND CHANCES AND MOVING ON...

On the day Jennifer Green was born a pile of stones was placed alongside her scale of life. A few were the dark gray of sorrow, but most were a pale blush colour. The largest stone was the rose hue of a sunrise. That one would be placed on the scale the day she married Drew Bishop. Even more brilliant but a wee bit smaller was the pink stone glistening with specs of silver. That one would bring Jennifer a baby girl named Brooke. The Keeper of the Scale smiled. Seeing such happiness laid out before him was pleasing to his eye.

Since the beginning of time, he and he alone has been challenged with the task of keeping each person’s scale in balance. A bit of happiness and then a small stone of sorrow, until the lives he has in his charge are measured evenly.

You might think such power is universal, but it is not. There are silver threads that crisscross the landscape of scales and connect strangers to one another. Not even the Keeper of the Scale can control the events travelling through those threads; the only thing he can do is try to equalise the balance once it has been thrown off. There is nothing more he can do for Jennifer; now he must find the thread that leads to Drew if he is to have the love he deserves.

My review

Book from Netgalley given for an honest review.

It was my first book from this author and I have no words to explain how good it was, but I'll give it my best shot.

The synopsis of the book captured me, and I was sure it was going to be an amazing ride.

The fact that it is book # 5 in the series scared me for a little bit, because I thought I might find myself lost in the plot, but that never happened, it can be read as a standalone.

The idea in which this series are based was really intriguing to me and I couldn't pass the chance to read it.

The book did not disappoint me, the characters are extremely developed and I connected so much with them that I found myself crying in Drew's quiet moments and I hurt for both of them with each heartbreak they encountered.

The simple thought that our lives are a compilation of different rocks, that give us sadness and happiness, and tinny threads that connects us to all of the other people we haven't met yet, blew my mind.

Fate was a big part of the story and it teaches us that no matter what we might deserve, sometimes life is just hard and if we are lucky, in the end we might find our true heaven.

Some people lives develop on an easy flow, with not too many disruptions; and others, like our characters in this story, are lived with extremely low moments and we can only hope this awful times will only make them stronger on the long run.

The little magic we get in the book was the cherry on top of this amazing story, the way the Inn seemed to help people find happiness again was a beautiful and romantic concept. I haven't had the chance to read the stories that came before so it was a nice magic surprise for me, I had no idea what they would find there.

I fell in love with every part of this story, it was the type of experience we can only hope for when we start a journey with a book, and I'm truly grateful to have had the chance.

You know that feeling on content, happiness and a little bit of sadness that comes over you when you finish a good story? Well if you haven't, this is the right book for you!

The Bachelor Auction (The Bachelors of Arizona #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

My Rating: 4 Stars
Series: Yes, The Bachelors of Arizona #1
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Letting go of your Demons.

Synopsis

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

My Review

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, given by Netgalley.

This book was just perfect ! It's a real life Cinderella story with a whole bunch of funny jokes and sexy innuendos.

The main characters meet in the most unlikely way there is and it's better than perfect.

Jane is a simple woman, she lives for her family and her job and that's okay with her. She has this easy way about her that makes people drop their walls and that's exactly what happens when she crossed paths with sexy Brock.

Brock is always in control, which is sexy, but he controls everything and everyone so much that he hasn't been living for a while, he is used to do what what makes everyone else happy until he sees Plane Jane and something changes within him.

The story is hilarious, the characters made me laugh and cry a lot during their journey.

The main issue in the book is the characters not being able to achieve their happiness, because life was rough on both, and since that moment they have only lived to help others, to make their weight more bearable.

It was beautiful to watch them rediscover love and fighting for what they wanted for the first time in a long time.

The twin brothers are just an unexpected pleasure and I can't wait to read their stories... so much potential!

My Review

I got this book for an honest review on Netgalley and I ate it up in a day, I'm so in love with this group of guys, they are all just perfect!

We get to read a little bit about the old characters we love, which was amazing and we also get to know Daniel, who was until this moment, a complete mystery.

He is a truly complex character, he hasn't been the same since he lost his best friend and he has quit on life altogether, he exists, but he is not really living.

Hope was not a new character, we had the pleasure of reading about her on the other books in the series, but we didn't actually know her.
She has had a hard life and she didn't only loose her brother in the crash, she lost everything she knew.

After all this years, fate chooses to join their paths again and it result in a steamy hot and crazy story. There's a lot of tears, angry discussions and most of all, the best sex scenes I a have read in a while.
Their connection transcended time, if there was something he knew and still remembered was how to work her body, so he just hoped it would solve the rest of their problems.

They were and are perfect together, but everything that happened in the time between there and now, is standing in their way to happiness.

They need to let go of the demons and guilt of the past, to be able to move forward. They have another chance, but sometimes, our own minds are our biggest enemies.

A must read as always!

He turned to find Hope standing behind him. Again. “You sure move quiet when you want to.” Especially for a woman with a bum leg. Not that he could say as much without sounding like a jackass.
“You mean since I had my knee replaced.” Of course she knew what he meant anyway. Apparently damn near reading his mind was one annoying habit she hadn’t outgrown.
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to.” She leveraged herself down next to him, the move not quiet as smooth as it’d been when she was eighteen.
Daniel almost cursed. He had to stop doing that. Comparing her now to how she was then wasn’t fair to either of them. It was another lifetime completely, and thinking about it was just fucking depressing. “Hope—”
“Are you seeing anyone?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
He was so surprised by the question that he answered honestly, “Why the fuck would I bother?”
“Oh, I don’t know, because you don’t want to be a creepy old man who lives in the middle of nowhere and has to run off silly high school kids with his shotgun because they tell ghost stories about him?”
He looked at her, half sure that she was the one who’d lost her damn mind. “That’s not a thing.”
“It is most definitely a thing.” She leaned back on her hands and stared at the sky. The most move arched her back and pressed her breasts against the fancy tank top she wore. It was made of some kind of drapey fabric that looked soft and shiny, and it highlighted the fact that he seriously doubted she was wearing a bra. “You’re too young to just give up.”
“It’s not about giving up.” Though he didn’t expect Hope to understand that. He’d checked up on her a few times since the accident, and every single time he was amazed at the things she’d accomplished. Life had kicked her in the teeth and she’d come back swinging. She’d taken two years off and then attended the University of Texas and graduated with honors. She ran her own successful consulting business to work with companies that wanted to set up scholarships and nonprofits.
She shifted to look at him. “It looks like giving up from where I’m sitting.”

Lyric and Lingerie (Fort Worth Wranglers #1) by Tracy Wolff & Katie Graykowski

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Fort Worth Wranglers #1.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Giving someone a second chance might be the perfect choice.

Synopsis
Lyric Wright is an off-beat astrophysicist whose life is falling apart around her. After losing her fiancé to a hula dancing astrologer and losing her dress to an ill-fated leap of faith, she’s sure there’s nowhere for her life to go but up. At least until she sits down on a trans-Pacific flight next to the one man she never wanted to see again—the boy she’d lost her heart and her virginity too back before she’d learned that friendship and football don’t equal true love.

Broken down quarterback Heath Montgomery is on a plane ride to nowhere. Dodging the phone call he’s certain will end his professional football career for good, he might be Texas bound, but he knows there’s nowhere for him to go but down. But that’s before his childhood best friend and confidante plops back into his life wearing nothing but duct tape and a bad attitude. Determined not to lose her again (especially since he isn’t sure why he lost her the first time) and desperate to outrun his own shadowy future, Heath sets out to take Lyric on the ride of her life. Too bad she only dates men who actually know what her butterfly nebula is … and can find it without the help of a star chart.

Add in one passive-aggressive flight attendant with delusions of couture, a cherry red car with a crush on Neil Diamond, an over-protective sister with a black belt in Krav Maga, two parents determined to marry their spinster daughter off to the hometown hero no matter the cost, and a whole lot of lingerie popping up in all the right places at all the wrong times and you’ve got an unforgettable love story that fans of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson won’t want to miss!

My Review

I got this book from the authors for an honest review and loved it!

The characters were amazing! So funny and entertaining from the start.

I'm in love with Lyric, honestly she is the perfect woman, apart from her proclivity to have the most improbable incidents, she is sweet and true to herself from the start.

Life has been always so unfair to her, and instead of being sorry for herself and hate life, she has a light that can't be extinguished.

The main characters have a beautiful 'meet-cute', well they actually already knew each other, but it's the first time I got to see them together and I couldn't picture what could he have done to make her so nervous and angry.

At first Heath seems like the typical sexy, sort of bad boy we all love and hated from high school and now he is a grown womaniser man.
But there's so much more to him, he is actually a pretty good guy who has been through a lot.

We get to see them fight and love each other with extreme passion, oh and don't forget get into trouble, because that seems to be following them around, or maybe it's just accident prone Lyric (Still love her).

Each of the family members we meet is amazing, the mom not so much, but I guess she had a purpose (maybe being super annoying).

Harmony is such a peculiar character, I can't wait for her story, there's so much potential there!

Overall and amazing read, I couldn't put the book down and kept laughing out loud on public transport earning some weird looks, so yeah I enjoyed it A LOT!

Excerpt

The second they stepped into Austin Bergstrom Airport, Lyric took off in a knees-together, Gangnam-style trot. He didn’t know where in the hell she was going, but she sure was in a hurry.
“Lyric?” Heath ran after her, his bad knee turning his own run into a shuffling gallop.
“I gotta pee now …” she sing-songed and picked up the pace. “And I can’t put a hold on it.”
“But how are you going to—” He watched her disappear into the women’s bathroom. “—get out of that dress?”
It didn’t take long for him to figure out that she was going to be right back out. She might not have been thinking about the mechanics of stripping off that damn dress, but he’d spent entirely too much of his adult life getting women out of their clothes to know that it was going to be a problem. A serious problem.
He glanced around, saw a small station of plastic flatware a few feet away near the restaurants. He wasn’t sure what good a plastic knife was going to do against tightly wrapped duct tape, but he was willing to give it the old Wrangler try. But when he got up to the institutional silverware holder, the only things left were a bunch of sporks and one sorry looking plastic knife. He grabbed them all, along with a couple of straws and a handful of mayonnaise packets for lubrication. He decided to leave the mustard where it was.
He made it back to the bathroom just as Lyric limped out, a look of crestfallen agony on her beautiful face. With a smile, he held up his plundered booty. “I’ve got you covered.”
She stared at the mismatched selection he’d picked up, then rolled her eyes. “I’m not a cheeseburger, Heath.”
“Yeah, well, the selection was limited. I did the best I could.” He crouched down next her. “Let’s get you out of this dress.”
She glanced around wildly. “Not here.”
“Why not here? I thought you had to go to the bathroom.”
“I’m not wearing anything under this duct tape.”
He froze, even as his heartbeat went wild. “Nothing?” She’d said so earlier, but he’d thought she was kidding. He swallowed. All that lovely white skin, and the only thing between it and him was a thin veneer of tape. There wasn’t a man alive who hadn’t had that dream a time or two.
“My dress ripped, remember?” She shuffled from foot to foot. Lyric hummed the chorus of Beyonce’s “Put a Ring on It.” Huh?
“Yeah, but what about your underwear?” “The dress was too tight. I didn’t want a panty line.” She sucked in air like it was going out of style.
“Lyric Wright, are you telling me you weren’t lying when you told me you were traveling halfway across the Pacific in nothing but duct tape?” He might have a heart attack himself, especially now that he was picturing all the bare skin just beneath his hands.
“Well, it wasn’t by choice. Believe me.” Standing up, he propelled her back through the bathroom entrance. They were already attracting a fair amount of attention, and there was no way in hell he was stripping Lyric down in front of half the men in the Austin airport.
“Heath. This is the ladies’ room.” She sounded scandalized. “Would you rather go into the men’s room and do this?” Over his dead body, but she didn’t need to know that.
“Well, no. But you’ll get in trouble.” She looked around like she was waiting for some sort of bathroom bouncer to appear and toss him out.
“By who? The bathroom police?” He laughed. “Sweetheart, we’re in the Lone Star State now. Short of losing the Super Bowl or wearing 49ers colors, there’s not much I can do in this state that will get me into trouble.”
“Seriously?” She eyed him with disgust.
“This is the great state of Texas. When people talk about the Holy Trinity, they’re talking about Jesus, the NRA, and the Fort Worth Wranglers. So yeah, you and I could drop down right here on this surprisingly clean tile and go for it, and the only comments people would make would be to offer suggestions … to you. And they’d still want me to sign their tits.”
“You know this from experience?” She glanced at the floor, and he could just see that huge brain of hers filing away the facts.
Despite the potty dance she was doing, it was really an example of Lyric at her finest. Never judgmental, simply interested in gathering information. At least, until she said, “Well, just so you know. If it gets to that, I’m taking the top. And if you hurry and get this dress off, I just might be willing to give it a shot.”
It was the wrong thing for her to say. Now his mind was filled with all kinds of inappropriate images, namely of Lyric and her double Ds above him as she followed the advice of T-shirts everywhere: Save a horse. Ride a Cowboy.
But he could tell things were getting critical, and he really didn’t want her to have an accident, so he ushered her to the large handicap stall at the back of the restroom.
As he locked the door behind them, one of the women who’d been primping at the mirror called, “When’s my turn, Deuce?”
“One at a time, ma’am. The line forms to the right,” he called over the stall door. He turned to Lyric. “All right,” he said, laying out his improvised tools on the ledge created by the toilet paper holder like a nurse preparing a tray of sterile implements. “Let’s get to work.”
Examining the duct tape like it was a medium-rare New York strip, Heath grabbed the spork in his left hand and took the knife in his right. Then he stepped back and spent a moment taking stock. Did he start at the top and work down or at the bottom and work up? Both had appeal.
Lyric danced from side to side, humming Beyoncé louder. “Do. Something.”
He hadn’t remembered her ever humming before. He knelt in front of her—genuflecting to Mistress Duct Tape—and pain shot through his bad knee at the awkward position. Gritting his teeth, he ignored it and sawed lightly at the dress’s hem. The pathetic plastic knife bent and twisted under his hand with each slice, but he didn’t want to hurt her so he kept the pressure light.
“Hurry.” She clamped her thighs together. Christ, the way she said that word—like he was inside her and she couldn’t come fast enough—turned him on.
Great, now he had a bum knee and a hard-on from hell to deal with.
Instead of focusing on the pain, he concentrated on freeing her bare bottom. Her round, lush, sexy-as-hell bare bottom. Sweat broke out on his upper lip, and he shifted, determined to concentrate on the problem at hand. “Open your legs.” It came out a little short, but seriously, if he had a nickel for every time he’d said that, he’d have a shitload of nickels. “Sit on the toilet.” Now that was a new one.
Lyric looked at him in horror, then leaned over and pulled several handfuls of toilet paper from the holder before she began arranging them as a seat cushion. Heath scooted closer to her.
“Jesus, I thought you were in a hurry.”
“I am, but there are rules. A lady squats but never sits on a public toilet. Did you know the average public toilet has two million bacteria per square inch?”
She piled more toilet paper into what could only be called a wreath arrangement on the seat. Was it a centerpiece or a toilet? He was getting confused. Especially when his old pal Lyric referred to herself as a lady. He’d never thought of her like that before.
Then again, now that he’d been this close to her luscious thighs, he’d probably never be able to think of her as anything but. He rubbed his knee. “I’ll file that little tidbit under Lyric’s Fun Facts. Right up there with the one in twenty shot of a meteorite striking a plane.”
“Okay.” She half sat, half dropped onto the seat. “I’m ready."
Heath didn’t have the heart to tell her that most of her fluffy seat cushion had landed on the floor.
“Here,” she inched her legs apart, “whatever you’ve got planned—GO FASTER.”
“Usually when I’m going at a woman from this angle I like to take my time. But in your case, I’ll make an exception.”
With all the force he could allow, he stabbed at the tape. The knife broke in half. “Damn.”
Lyric’s legs started to vibrate. “What’s taking so long? Prisoners with the intelligence of spider monkeys are able to dig out of Alcatraz with nothing but a spoon, but you can’t break me out of this dress?”
He shook his head. “There’s never a convict with a shiv around when you need one.” He had two Super Bowl rings, a Heisman Trophy, and more wins than he could count. There was no way in hell a few strips of duct tape were going to break his winning streak.
With all the murderous intent of Norman Bates’s mother with a butcher knife, Heath rammed the spork at the tape. The spork cracked down the middle and bit into his palm.
He stared at it for a second, then decided fuck it. It was past time to go old school. “Hold on honey, I’m going in.”
Licking his lips, he stuck his head between her thighs and clamped his teeth down on the tape. But the second his jaw scraped against her inner thighs, Lyric shrieked.
Her surprisingly strong thighs—who knew an astrophysicist could be so toned—clamped down on his ears and she giggled. “What are you doing? That tickles.” Lyric wiggled against him.
“My dad always taught me to use the tools at hand, and right now these are all I’ve got left.” Heath bit through the bottom edge of the dress, then spit out a chunk of tape and went for the next layer. It wasn’t the first dress he’d chewed through, but it was the first one that had stuck to his teeth.

Outsider (Exodus End #2) by Olivia Cunning

My Rating: 5 Stars
Series: Yes, Exodus End #2.
Sex Scenes: Yes.
Subject: Love can come in all shapes and sizes, and some people have a big enough heart to love many.

Synopsis
Reagan Elliot should be living her dream...

She’s touring with Exodus End as their new rhythm guitarist and gaining more notoriety and fame than she ever imagined possible.

She’s earned the devoted love of not only one, but two spectacular men. Her committed threesome with sexy guitarist Trey Mills and her hunky bodyguard Ethan Conner is stable, loving, deep, and satisfying for all involved.

But sometimes the world sees things differently and is determined to destroy what it doesn’t understand.

Can Reagan’s relationship with Trey and Ethan survive the cruel backlash of the media, her family, and a bigoted public? Or will the talented musician lose everything she holds dear in the face of her own burgeoning doubts?

Outsider is the second book in the Exodus End World Tour series. It’s also the sequel to Double Time, the fifth book in the Sinners on Tour series.

My Review

I was so excited when I got this book on Netgalley for an honest review! I love Olivia Cunning and all of her sexy dirty rock stars, so obviously I couldn't wait to get started with the book and I wasn't disappointed!

I was so happy to read more about Trey's love story, he is such a pure soul, and life hadn't been fair in the love department until he met Reagan and Ethan. He loved with all of his heart, had no boundaries when it came to giving a part of himself to his lovers so he suffered immensely when his feelings weren’t reciprocated.

Ethan comes close second as my favorite character, he is such a good guy, he is strong and even though it’s been hard for him to accept what he wants he loves them with all of his heart and you can just imagine his intense eyes communicating everything he holds back.

Reagan is having a hard time fighting with what she wants and what people expect of her and that could damage their relationship eventually, she needs to find a way of accepting her true feelings regardless of what people think.

This type of relationship might be exciting and easy at first but it’s hard to maintain in time and the characters go through some difficult situations, intensified by their public figures status in the rock world.

The way the author is able to create such a deep and intense connection between the characters is one of my favorite things about her books, you get to really know each and every one of them and that’s why we laugh with their amazing jokes and cry with them when life gives them a hard time.

We get to see a little bit more about more about all of our Sinners and Exodus End favorite characters and how their lives have changed since we last read about them. If you haven’t read the other books and series I recommend you to do it before reading this one, you won’t regret it!

Last but not least, the sex scenes are just perfection, when you think fantasy land on steroids that’s what you can expect to find in Olivia’s books. Her characters are well known for not having any hard limits when it comes to pleasure, they just enjoy themselves without any reservations and there’s nothing sexier than that.

Each book I read on these series is making me fall a little bit more in love with this crazy rock star world and I see a book Hangover-depression coming, so please never stop writing their stories!!!

My Review

I got this book for an honest review on Netgalley and it was a fast and fun read for sure.

The story was just what I was expecting when I read the description, it was entertaining and the whole "Steps to Mr Right" concept definitely kept me reading non stop to see how thing would work out for the ladies involved.

Savannah was an peculiar character, she made me mad at times when she couldn't stop quoting and reciting her rules in her own head.
Order is good but if you always live life by your rule book you will end up not really living, and that's exactly what happened to her.

Getting hurt was something she wanted to avoid, the sting was too much for her to relive, but the only way of really living your life is taking risks, not being scared to open your heart once more, and maybe if you are lucky you will find real happiness.

Linc was perfect for me, I knew from the moment he came back to her that he was not the man she told us about, he had changed, but I wasn't ready for the real truth behind his past actions, he surprised me in a really good way!

Overall, it was an amazing read, full of fun LOL worth scenes and if you find yourself feeling a little bit tired of Savannah, give her a break, it will be worth it at the end.
